A ‘missing person’ returned home on Saturday after the Supreme Court took notice of the matter. On Friday, the court had ordered the capital police chief to recover and produce Umer Mahmood who had allegedly been picked up in broad daylight last week in the presence of his family.
Mahmood’s father and his counsel acknowledged the safe return of the young man and said the officials concerned were looking into the matter.
Tariq Asad, the counsel for Mehmood, had informed the court that the only crime Mahmood committed was that he was supplying food to protesters demanding recovery of missing persons in Islamabad’s Parade Ground.
