Pak blind win 2nd ODI to level series with India

Pakistan won the second ODI in a thriller and kept series alive by leveling it one-all against India at SPIC YMCA Chennai. Pakistan won the toss and asked India to take guard. Pakistan sent the half of Indian batting line to pavilion on just 90 runs but Venkatesh and Ajay Reddy piled up 165 runs partnership for the 6th wicket took away the initial advantage from Pakistan. India eventually posted a mammoth total of 371 runs for 6 wickets in 40 overs. Venkatesh remained unbeaten on 121 runs while Ajay Reddy made 74 runs. Idrees Saleem took 3 wickets while Yasir took 1 wicket. In reply, Pakistan started well but lost wickets in regular intervals.
Muhammad Jameel’s sparkling 120 runs on 64 balls and Arslan Javed’s 52 runs kept Pakistan’s hope alive. But they both fell in quick succession, leaving Pakistan 99 runs to win in less than 12 overs and only two wickets in hand. But Muhammad Fayyaz’s elegant unbeaten 58 runs on 35 balls and Zeeshan Abbasi’s supportive 32 runs enabled Pakistan to win the match and to level the ODI series 1-1. They both added 99 runs in the 9th wicket partnership. Shekhar Naik, Hitesh Patel and Ajay Reddy took 2 wickets each. Muhammad Jameel was named the Man of the match. The third and last ODI of the series will be played today (Saturday) at the same venue.
