SAARC Chamber welcomes decision to normalise trade with India

President ,Vikramjit Singh Sahney and Vice President, Iftikhar Ali Malik of SAARC Chamber have welcomed the government’s decision to normalised trade between India and phaseout negative list by December 2012.
They said that by liberalising trade policies, Pakistan and India, the two neighbouring countries are gradually making progress in establishing a trustworthy relationship.
In a statement Vikramjit Singh Sahney said withdrawal of negative list help boost trade between the two countries. The measure adopted by other countries to normalise trade will also improve trust on each other.
He said that removal of non tariff barriers will also boost trade and hoped that in next one year it may be doubled.
The president emphasised the need of early implementation of decision to grant one year multi entery vise to business community which will help build better contacts and provide better facility of travelling for business and trade activities.
He said normalising trade ties between India and Pakistan is in the interest of both the countries and it would not only help strengthen economy but also boost economic activities in the region.
He was of the view that through liberalisation of trade both the countries will be able to get big market for the products.
He appreciated efforts of Commerce Ministers and secretaries of both the countries to normalise trade ties.
