The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in collaboration with the Educational Advisory Services and Training (EAST) held the 2nd CIMA Business Quiz – 2012.
Ninety-five teams representing 26 O’ and A’ levels schools participated in the quiz, which was held at three different levels – A’ levels, AS’ levels and O’ levels.
The winners of the A’, AS’ and O’ levels included teams from the Dawood Public School, the Defence Authority School, the Avicenna School, the Beacon House School PECHS, the Cordoba School, the City School Gulshan campus and the Beacon House Gulshan campus.
Winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000
respectively while the prize money for runners-up of A’, AS’ and O’ Levels was Rs
12,500, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,500, respectively.
CIMA offers the most relevant finance qualification for business in 176 countries
of world including Pakistan is regarded as the world’s largest professional body
of management accountants. At the quiz, CIMA Country Manager Javaria Hassan said, “The CIMA business quiz is the only competition for O’ and A’ levels students that puts their accounting skills and knowledge to test against teams from different schools from across the city. Such competitions add value to academic learning. I am delighted to see so many future business athletes participating in the competition today who have that fire burning in their hearts to make their parents, their schools, and their country proud of themselves by standing out from the crowd. These participants today have the potential to make Pakistan’s tomorrow better and happier.”
