Sundar Police registered a case of encounter against two property dealers who were injured in an exchange of fire with cops of Sundar Police late on Sunday night.
Per details Muhammad Ijaza and Muazam, residents of Gujranwala, were running a business of property dealing at Punjab Government Society. Late on Sunday night they were going out for dinner on their car and as they reached near Mohlanwal Chowk, some men, who were covered in shawls and later were identified as cops, signalled them to stop. Ijaz and Muazam, mistaking them for robbers, tried to escape from the picket over which the cops opened fires on their car. Resultantly both Ijaz and Muazam sustained serious bullet injuries. Some locals after witnessing the incident rushed Ijaz and Muazam to Bahria Town Hospital where doctors stated Ijaz to be in critical condition. Doctor of Bahria Town later shifted Ijaz to Jinnah Hospital for proper treatment.
Meanwhile cops of Sundar Police in order to hide their negligence registered a case of encounter against Ijaz and Muazam. Sundar police, in the FIR, mentioned that they have nabbed two injured robbers after cross firing while they were trying to escape from the scene.
MURDER: A 25-years-old boy was found murdered with severe marks of torture on different parts of his body in the Ichra Police area on Monday. Per details some locals observed a body of a young man lying along the shrine of Peer Ghazi located in Ichra Police Area. Locals immediately informed the police whose officials after reaching the scene removed the body of the deceased to morgue for autopsy. The police said the deceased was later on identified as Ehsan Elahi, a resident of Ichra Area. The police said the deceased was working as a salesman for a local tiles shop. The police said the deceased body bore serious marks of bruises on different part. According to local police some unidentified killers tortured and later strangulated Ehsan Elahi to death. The killers later escaped after throwing the body of the deceased at said place.
ACCIDENT: A woman was knocked down and killed by an unidentified speeding car while her husband sustained serious injuries in the Barki Police precincts on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Asima while her injured husband was identified as Shahzad, residents of Jallo Mor Area.
Rescue officials said Asima and her husband were going somewhere when a speeding car knocked them down. Resultantly Asima and Shahzad sustained serious injuries. Some locals informed rescue officials, who after reaching the scene rushed them to a nearby hospital where Asima succumbed to her injuries while doctors stated Shahzad to be in critical condition. Police after reaching the scene handed over the body of the deceased to her heirs while started searching for the accused driver who managed in escaping from the scene safely.
ROBBERY PROTEST: A jeweller, whose gold worth Rs 150 millions was robbed by three robbers during a daylight robbery in Chuhang Police Area on February 18, along with his friends lodged protest outside Chuhang Police Station on Monday for the recovery of the looted items.
The protesters raised anti-police slogans and alleged that the incident had happened because of the negligence and involvement of police. They claimed that the police investigators had recovered dozens of empty shells of bullets from the crime scene but they had failed in tracing the criminals. However protestors later disbursed peacefully after the cops of Chuhang Police ensured their full cooperation in recovering the looted valuables.
Chuhang Police’s Sub-Inspector Afzal Virak said no protest had been lodged.
MINOR RECOVERED: Factory Area Police on Monday recovered a 5-years-old boy, who was kidnapped for ransom couple of days ago.
The victim was kidnapped and abducted by his real maternal aunt. This was disclosed by SP Investigations Cantt Police Ameen Bukhari while talking to reporters during a briefing at his office. The SP said 5-years-old Abdul Rehman, a resident of Javed Colony, was kidnapped by unidentified kidnappers. He said victim’s father namely Ijaz informed Factory Area police about the mishap. Meanwhile kidnappers contacted the heirs of the victim and demanded Rs 200,000 as ransom. Police investigators suggested Ijaz to decide a place of delivery with the kidnappers who asked Ijaz to drop required money in Z-Block Defence. As Ijaz left for handing over the money to the kidnappers, the police party chased him and nabbed the criminals involved in kidnapping the boy.
The kidnappers include victim’s real maternal aunt Shakila, Iftikhar, Afzal and Imran. The police officials also recovered the child safely from the custody of the kidnappers.
