Lofty claims of the government regarding the continued blockade of NATO supply routes have fallen flat, as supplies to international forces stationed in Afghanistan continue through aerial routes under the garb of civil cargo transportation. Geo News reported that the Civil Aviation Authority was aiding the daily transfer of supplies to coalition forces in Afghanistan through at least six flights. Per details, a private cargo company had received permission from the CAA for transporting civil cargo to Afghanistan and the permission was granted by an influential group of CAA officials. The cargo transported had pledged not to fly weapons or other military equipment, but the reality was in fact the opposite. The TV channel said the cargo company had its office on the fifth floor of the Jinnah Terminal at Karachi airport. The report said cargo meant for coalition forces was loaded in planes at Sharjah airport. The authorities in UAE know where the cargo is headed but Pakistani authorities are not informed of the actual cargo or its nature and it is only termed civil equipment meant for Afghanistan.
