In May 2011, the top management of PIMS wanted their people to be recruited at the Liver Transplant Facility but their proposal was turned down. All the inductions were made on merit, contrary to the wishes and pressure of the administration. But the bad news is that on 8 February 2012, there was a meeting of PIMS officials chaired by ED PIMS, in which they have decided to fire all employees and recruit their own people. Another meeting has been called today by ED PIMS regarding this.
This is sheer injustice with the current working employees. For the sake of nepotism he has engaged in unlawful and illegal steps. Within a day or two, the ED PIMS could declare all current recruitments null and void, despite the fact that we were inducted through legal, lawful and proper channel. This he will do because he wants to induct his own people in place of the current employees.
Hence, I appeal the SC and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of this matter. Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani wanted to establish a liver transplant facility in the capital and he started a project in this regard in June 2011. He directed all concerned officials to work on it on emergency basis.
I feel necessary to share with the public that this liver transplant project in PIMS, Islamabad is one of the mega projects of our country but some corrupt officials are actively engaged in engulfing funds of the project which are around 14 billions rupees.
It is very sad that media, judiciary and all other well informed groups are silent over this injustice. There were more than enough funds to establish a separate building within PIMS premises for this project. But nothing has been done in this regard. Eight months on and no development at all and misappropriations have been done by concerned authorities in terms of funds utilisation. Task assigned to officials of this project by the Prime Minister has not been not been fulfilled. No body knows about funds utilisation. No separate building, no development at all.
I’m afraid that after eating up all the funds, the top officials of the project would say that funds were not enough to establish a liver transplant facility in the capital. Moreover, liver transplant department employees are working without any pay for the last five months. More than half the employees have been forced to quit their jobs. It is quite incredible that employees of a 14 billion rupees project are deprived of their salaries.
The Honourable Prime Minister should look into this matter, after all this is his project. Some corrupt officials want this project to fail and they have already doen a lot to its funds.
