Three bank dacoits among 11 criminals arrested

Industrial Area Circle Police, Islamabad, have arrested 11 persons for their alleged involvement in various crimes including bank dacoities and looting, and recovered cash, three vehicles and other valuables from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.
The Industrial Area Circle Police, under the supervision of SP Ishaq Warraich and DSP Ashraf Shah, constituted special teams headed by Sabzi Mandi Police Station SHO Abid Ikram and Industrial Area SHO Rukhsar Mehdi. The police team succeeded in arresting three persons who were involved in committing dacoities at Al-Falah Bank and Allied Bank on June 23, 2011, and April 5, 2010, respectively. The dacoits were identified as Raza Khan, son of Haya Khan, and Feeroz Shah, son of Ameen Shah, residents of Mardan, and Waseem Haroon, son of Muhammad Yousaf Haroon, resident of Kohat.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in overall 22 bank dacoities in various cities including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Faisalabad. The police team also recovered Rs 0.7 million, two vehicles, a hand grenade and weapons from their possession.
Sabzi Mandi police also arrested four other dacoits – Asmat, Qaisar Mehmud, Shah Nawaz and Shamraiz, and recovered cash Rs 3,50,000 from them.
The police team of I-9 police station arrested two persons – Hasnain Haider resident of Rawalpindi, and Jameel, resident of Sheikhupura – who used to deprive people of cash and other valuables after portraying themselves as policemen.
Meanwhile, two women – Rabia and Sabiha, residents of Nowshera, were arrested for taking away gold ornaments and jewellery from women passengers while traveling in vans.
