Rain-flood victims

With every passing day the miseries of this year’s disastrous rain and last year’s flood victims in Sindh are multiplying. They are reported dying of hunger, malnourishment, non-availability of potable water and now chilly winter and wintry diseases.

Lamentably, our provincial rulers are taking delight in vexing these victims. The relief goods, which were donated by different brotherly countries and international donor and relief agencies, are perishing in various godowns and warehouses but are not being distributed among these impecunious and needy victims in the province.

Apathy and insensitivity of our provincial rulers, bureaucrats and technocrats is, indeed, despicable. It is reported that these avaricious officers are on the lookout to sell those relief items through their touts in the market, at an appropriate time.

Are there any God-fearing and people-caring people in this country of ours to have a little compassion on these poor souls who are virtually dying and order the concerned authorities to distribute relief goods, such as blankets, medicines, edibles and nutritional items, among the victims?
