LAHORE – Lahore district’s combined team will represent the city in the athletics and badminton competitions of the Punjab Inter-division Tournament of high school category of the second Chief Minister Sports Cup.
The events will be held from January 13 to 18 in Lahore. Lahore division won the boys and girls badminton and athletics competitions of the Chief Minister Cup, Inter-district phase III, played among various districts while Sheikhupura clinched the volleyball title of the boys category here on Friday.
Similar competitions among girls were also held in Sahiwal. Okara division won the last volleyball league match 2-0 whereas in final match, Sahiwal division won the title.
In Lahore, the final boys athletics and football competitions were held at Punjab Stadium which the host division won comfortably. The boys badminton competition was also won by Lahore which at Punjab College, Lahore. Sheikhupura won the boys volleyball final which was staged at Government College for Boys Mozang. The girls volleyball, athletics and badminton competitions were won by Lahore division.
In Faisalabad, the final football match was played between Fasialabad and Toba Tek Singh. Faisalabad won the match 1-0. The boys volleyball match was played between Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh in which Faisalabad team got first position.
Faisalabad won girls volleyball match beating Toba Tek Singh 2-1.
In DG Khan, the boys volleyball, badminton, football and athletics competitions were held. Muzafargarh district beat DG Khan in boys football and in boys volleyball, Muzafargarh district beat Rajanpur. DG Khan beat Layyah. DG Khan beat Rajanpur in boys badminton whereas in boys athletics, the 100m race winner was Talat Mehmood from DG Khan, Mubashir Imtiaz from Muzafargarh won the title of 200m race. The shot putt winner was Mohammad Daniyal from DG Khan and Gulfraz from Muzafargarh won the long jump competition.
Sargodha won the boys volleyball competition at Government High School number 1. Sargodha also won the football matches. In boys badminton, Sargodha again got the first position whereas in boys athletics, Mohammed Baber from Sargodha won the 100m race. Qasim Ali from Sargodha won 800m race and Amir Shahzad stood first in long jump.
