A five-member delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would hold an important meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday to evolve a seat adjustment formula regarding the upcoming Senate elections, due by mid-February. The MQM delegation would be headed by Dr Farooq Sattar, while Babar Ghauri, Raza Haroon, Dr Sagheer and Waseem Aftab would accompany him. The MQM is likely to win three or four Senate seats from Sindh Assembly in the upcoming Senate polls if the elections are held with the existing assemblies.
Though there was no official word but since the president would not be available in the federal capital, the meeting would be rescheduled in Karachi. Earlier, the meeting had been scheduled for the federal capital. When contacted, MQM spokesman Wasay Jalil confirmed the meeting.
