The core committee meeting of PPP was held on Thursday. The committee has reiterated its earlier decision of not writing a letter to Swiss authorities to reopen a money laundering case against President Zardari. It also decided that there would be no separate reply in the memo case. This is a matter of concern. Undoubtedly, the PPP has not acknowledged the apex court’s decisions from day one of its incumbency.
PPP leaders are travelling on the war path. This practice of the PPP is not good for the country and democratic system. Confrontation between the government and the judiciary will lead to destruction. PPP leaders should accept the court’s decisions in letter and spirit. Implementation of the court’s decisions is the responsibility of government.
