LAHORE – An accountability court on Thursday issued orders to confiscate the property of Raja Riaz, owner of Raja Centre Main Market Gulberg Lahore. A reference had been filed against Raja Riaz in an accountability court with regard to a co-operative scam. He had been declared a proclaimed offender (P/O) owing to his non-appearance in court during the reference’s hearing. Earlier the court had attached Riaz’s properties located at 71-D-1 Gulberg-III and office no 147-F Raja Centre Main Market Gulberg Lahore. Even after the attachment of property, the accused did not appear in court for his defense, so the court on Thursday directed consolidation officer Muhammad Jameel to confiscate the said properties.
The court also directed the consolidation officer to un-seal the properties for preparation of the list of articles furnished there. Consolidation officer has been directed to produce a copy of list before registrar and LDA authorities. The court has sought the report in this regard on January 12.
