Salmon P Chase said: All men are born equally free. Equality means that everyone enjoys certain rights without any discrimination or prejudice: right of education, right of health care, right of opportunity for employment, right of justice, right of freedom of speech and so many more. Different discriminations like race, status and gender makes it difficult for us to achieve the level of equality.
The state of our country today is no doubt a victim of such discriminations among the people, who think they are superior or better than the ones working under them.
Taking a look at the working departments, the people at higher ranks as officials and executives always degrade the ones working under them; these high ranked people do not imply the same things on low level workers’ success as they imply it to themselves. That is one of the reasons why a lower class man remains a lower class man until he dies because there is no one around him who can actually lift him up; instead, the ones who are supposed to do that push him down even more.
A scenario of a house is no different, a lady in a house will never treat her maid in a good way, a boy having an iPhone will always mistreat a kid who does not have a cell phone at all and a beggar will always be pushed away at a signal. Such things will never let these people improve, instead it will and is dragging the situation. This difference between the classes never let the lower class people improve and do something beyond expectations. They keep on doing the same things because they know no matter what they will always be treated in the same way.
When we talk about religious discriminations in our country, Shias and Sunnis are the two most dominant groups which always target each other in one way or another.
Talking about men and women equality, our women in rural areas are still treated as useless, they are not allowed to study, not allowed to work in a different environment and most importantly they are not allowed to marry and choose their own life partners. Instead, they are either sold out or forcefully married to someone else.
The most highlighted discrimination in the country is of rich and poor, hundreds of shops are in the country where many people cannot go and buy while some of the people can actually buy the whole of it. Why is that specific group of people in the country called the elite class? And making the situation even worse, our government does not give any importance to such discriminations and raises the prices day by day which the rich can overcome but the poor can’t.
These inequalities in a state never let it improve, they work as a barrier. We should try giving equal rights to everyone. Giving every person his right over his own circle will eventually make him equal to others. A luxurious and comfortable life does not in any way make one different from those who are not living it the same way. Buying branded items, having cool gadgets and a pretty look on your face wouldn’t make you any superior.
Every man’s life is important; people living in this world with him have no right to judge his level of life. Not forgetting that all of us in the end will have to go before one Lord, when no one will have preference over anyone, why not live equally here in our world and be at a higher rank in the eyes of our Lord.
