Jamat Ali Shah flees

As reported today by the media that Jamat Ali Shah, former Indus Water Commissioner, has escaped to Canada despite being on ECL for acting as an agent of India by irreparably damaging the water interest of Pakistan in giving a free hand to India in building a 57-meter high hydropower project in Leh district (Nimoo Bazgo).

Additionally, 42-meter high Chuttak hydroelectric power project is also being completed on the Suru River, a tributary of Indus in the Kargil district of the Indian Held Kashmir.

The said projects will reduce the flows of Indus River, the lifeline of Pakistan. On top of the above treachery, India has also managed to get approval of carbon credits amounting to $482,083 in seven years ($68,869 per year) from the UN for the two projects after showing that it has got the clearance report on trans-boundary environmental impact assessment of the said projects, from Pakistan.

Now if the Memogate can have ramifications of Article 6, why can’t this treason of compromising vital water interests of Pakistan by the highest officials of the government and those responsible for allowing the main culprit of this scandal (Jamat Ali Shah) to leave the country after he was put on ECL, be also treated for high treason?

It is very astonishing why the PM or the government has not taken any action against those responsible persons who allowed him to flee from the country.

This is another fit case for last hope of Pakistan i.e., the judiciary, to immediately take suo motu action against the fifth columnist traitors, who sold vital interests of Pakistan to bring it on its knees before India, and those who allowed the traitors to flee from the country.

  1. I always used to think that why have the Govt of Pakistan selected a 'peon' to represent us at such important venues like Indus water treaty.(Bhookay, nangay ko bhayjo gay to 1 roti kay wastay Mulk baych daay gaa)

The former commissioner Pakistan Commission of Indus Water, who allegedly facilitated India in building the Nimoo Bazgo hydropower project, has managed to flee the country in spite of being on the exit control list. This man damaged our country’s interests and yet the powerful lobby, which comprises corrupt dual-nationality holders, helped him dodge accountability. This incident emphasises the need to stop dual-nationality holders from assuming any public office. There is a network of such people within Pakistan who facilitate and organise the flow of massive capital from Pakistan by helping corrupt bureaucrats, retired khakis, traders and politicians in transferring their ill-gotten black money abroad. This group holds key positions within the major organisations.

Men like Jamaat Ali Shah, with split loyalties, should have neverbeen allowed to hold such sensitive assignments, where their decisions have a long-term impact on the future of this country and its citizens. It is unfortunate that such men, a few rotten eggs, have brought a bad name to our expatriate community. All citizens, whether they seek elections or are paid public servants, must be thoroughly probed to determine that they neither hold dual nationality nor own assets abroad.

If this is not HIGH TREASON then what is it? The whole country is begging for water and such traitors are given important positions of sovereign importance. All dual nationality Pakistanis should be given the option, “either here or there.” Poor Pakistan! Always suffering. Salams

  4. Shameful comment by an obvious PPP supporter – Zardari ousted Jamait Ali Shah when he would not tow the line. You are accusing someone who carried out his post for over 20 years!!! He worked under successive governments and was the best person to lead in this position. Finally Zardari enforced his retirement and now his lackeys are chasing him.
