The city’s Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Police has announced the traffic plan for the New Year’s Eve (Saturday night) as people are expected to visit recreational places including the Clifton beach and Bagh Ibne Qasim in large numbers.
DIVERSIONS: All vehicular traffic coming from Akhtar Colony via the Expressway and Korangi will not be allowed to move towards the Khayaban-e-Ittehad (Sea View) but will be diverted towards the main Korangi Road, the Shahrah-e-Faisal, the Regent Plaza Chowk, the Hoshing Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, the Kothari Parade and the 26th Street.
There will be one-way traffic from the Ali Baba /China Chowrangi up to Akhtar Colony Light Signal via Village restaurant at the Sea View and the Khayaban-e-Ittehad.
Traffic would not be allowed to move towards the Submarine Chowrangi from the Mai Kolachi Road and will be closed after 9 pm from the KPT Bridge near the American Consulate.
Traffic would not be allowed to enter from the Bilawal Chowrangi towards the Clifton helipad and the Khayaban-e-Firdosi will be completely closed for traffic.
The heavy traffic from the Mauripur Road will not be allowed to move towards the Mai Kolachi Road and will be diverted to the Jinnah Bridge to reach their destinations via the Hub River Road and the Shahrah-e-Pakistan.
Parking would not be allowed at the main arteries of the city including the Shahrah-e-Faisal, the Abdullah Haroon Road, the Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road, the Mai Kolachi Road, the Korangi Road and the MT Khan Road.
The use of motorcycles without silencers or broken ones would strictly be prohibited and violators would be handed over to police for legal action.
The residents of Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Keamari Town, Lyari Town, and SITE Town should use the Estate Avenue, the Mauripur Road, the Jinnah Bridge, Sultanabad, the Club Chowk, the Hoshing Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, the Kothari Parade in Clifton and the 26th Street to reach Sea View.
The residents of North Nazimabad Town, Gulberg Town, Liaquatabad Town, Gulshan Town, New Karachi Town should use the MA Jinnah Road, the Garden Road, the Zaibunnisa Street Avari Light Signal, the Club Chowk, the Hoshing Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, the Kothari Parade in Clifton and the 26th Street to reach the Sea View.
The residents of Gadap Town, Bin Qasim Town, Landhi Town, Korangi Town, Shah Faisal Town, Jamshed Town and Saddar Town should use the Shahrah-e-Faisal, the Club Chowk, the Hoshing Chowk, Teen Talwar, Do Talwar, the Kothari Parade and the 26th Street to reach Sea View.
The residents of the DHA residing in phases V, VI and VII can access Phase VIII by reaching the intersections of 26th Street, Saba Avenue, Shaheen Light Signal, Shujaat Light Signal and Bahria intersection on the Khayaban-e-Ittehad.
