Qadri wants national govt under SC’s supervision

Minhajul Quran International Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday called for formation of a national government under supervision of the Supreme Court (SC).
In his video address from Canada to a public rally at Liaqat Bagh, Qadri said that to pull the country out of existing problems a national government was the need of the hour. He said that time had come for a change, adding that a national government, having representation of all segments of society, including the army and judiciary, could resolve the problems being faced by the masses. “In the current system where people are dying of hunger, rampant corruption, rising price hike, our society neither remains Islamic nor democratic,” he said. The cleric said that Pakistan’s present system needs a political surgery.
“The real change would neither emanate from the establishment nor from the current electoral system, rather the people’s uprising against the oppressive system would be instrumental in changing the system,” he said. Qadri said that even if 100 elections were held under the present system, the dream of change would never materialise. The Minhajul Quran chairman strongly criticised policies of the Election Commission (EC). “According to elections laws, no candidate can spend more than Rs 0.3 million on his election campaign but in every election, candidates spend million of rupees for running their campaigns but the EC keeps mum over the issue.”
Some participants chanted slogans in former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer’s killer Mumtaz Qadri’s favour due to which a scuffle broke out between the participants. Police arrested five people for disturbing the rally and shifted them to the police station.

  5. everyone know that aabpara industry is financing PTI not Tahir Ul Qadri,reason is that that dr Qadri is not willing to participate this corrupt electoral systetm.
    yesterday you have seen that PMLQ leaders joins PTI ,aabpara industry forced them to join their king party.

  8. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is abviously right to say that the real change is not possible through current electoral system. This curropt electoral system was geared towards protecting the interests of the ruling elite with nothing to offer to the poor masses.

    His thought is opposed to that of many anchors, intellectuals, analysts and political commentators. He said that electronic and print media always showed uniform picture in respect of political consciousness. He said that the door to public awareness, which he was opening, was never opened before and the subject was never brought under discussion at any level. He asked the media to take up this issue in the larger public interest. He said that he wanted to tell the people of Pakistan through the public rally that if the incumbent system, which was being dubbed as ‘democratic, stayed intact, no change would come about through it. He who would contest elections under the present electoral system would fail.

  9. I hope that the Pakistani people soon understands how important Tahir ul Qadri is for the nation…..otherwise it will be nothing but a weak and even more corrupt Pakistan.
