Routine crime – 4 dead several injured, in murders and accidents

LAHORE – Four people died while several were injured in separate incidents in the metropolis on Sunday.
COOKED: A man was gunned down over some old rivalry in Northern Cantonment police precincts on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Saleem (32), a resident of Harripur. According to the police, Saleem had an old rivalry with a group in his native city Haripur and he had shifted to Lahore to get rid of the rivalry and worked as a cook in a house in Defence Phase 8.
Police said an unidentified man sneaked into the house, hid behind the rear wall and when Saleem came out to close the house’s main gate, he shot him. Police told that the accused only shot one bullet on his face and he died instantly. An FIR has been lodged against the unidentified man, while Saleem’s body has been shifted to the morgue.
A WITTY GUNSHOT: A man shot his friend over a scuffle in Bhagwanpura police precincts on Sunday. Police investigators told that the deceased, Abdus Sattar (26), was a waiter and a resident of Shadipura. Sattar’s friend Rizwan came to Sattar’s house late at night and during an exchange of friendly witty insults, Rizwan got serious over a joke.
The matter worsened, both started to scuffle and then Rizwan shot Sattar. Police have registered an FIR against Rizwan and arrested upon the deceased’s brother’s request. KNOCKED DOWN: A 51-year-old man was knocked down by a car in Khana Nou police precincts on Sunday.
The deceased, Shafae Hussain, a resident of Soe Asal Road, was crossing the road when a Mazda ran him over, and the driver managed to escape. Hussain was injured and rushed to the hospital where he died. Police have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver and have start probing into the matter.
COLLISION: Six people were injured in a car-motorcycle collision in Anarkali police precincts on Sunday. A Corolla driver, Abdul Razzaq, lost control of his car owing to over-speeding and hit a motorist. Amjad, the motorist was injured along with the car passengers; Ahmad Raza, Abdul Razzaq and four others. The injured were rushed to hospital where their condition was told to be out of danger.
INFANT DISPOSED: An infant’s body was found from the canal bank in Muslim Town police precincts on Sunday. The body of a new-born baby was lying aside of the Canal Road near Muslim Road. According to the Edhi sources, the body was freshly disposed off. The passersby informed the Edhi officials about it, who later buried it.
ROOF COLLAPSED: Three people were injured owing to a roof collapse at Dharampura police precincts on Sunday. A family of three had been living in a rented house near Chobaha Phattak for the last one year. Their house’s roof was in a bad condition and collapsed on Sunday morning, almost burying residents under the debris, who were later rescued by Edhi and Rescue 1122 officials, and shifted to Services Hospital.
