Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the Excise Department to immediately open the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) office as the excise authorities sealed the main secretariat of PTI located here at Jail Road over non-payment of property tax.
According to the details, the Punjab Excise Department sealed the PTI Lahore office due to nonpayment of taxes, but it was reopened within minutes of Shahbaz’s orders.
According to the Excise DG, the office was sealed on nonpayment of Rs 3.5 lac property tax.
The Punjab Government clarified that the action against PTI was taken by the Excise Department on its own, without asking from the political leadership. The department was directed to solve the issue through negotiations with the PTI officials.
Good response from the CM. Politics should remain politics and not turn into vendeta
