LAHORE – Thousands of the daily wagers of Punjab have lost their jobs as gas break of industrial units continued on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday in Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal, a private TV channel reported.
The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has halted several industrial areas gas supply, under the National Energy Saving Campaign, from the evening of December 27 and after completion of the scheduled time it will be restored on Friday (December 31) morning.
In the next phase of the weekly break, the gas supply of industries in Faisalabad will be halted on December 31 and it will continue for four days, the channel reported. The industrial workers decided to take out a protest rally and block main road to express their displeasure over the gas breaks and power failures.
