Farmaan Ali Khan, who saved the life of 14 people, has been awardedthe highest Saudi civil award. This is a matter of great pride for Pakistan that King Abdullah also named a road, Shahrah-e-Farmaan Ali Khan, after him. Farmaan sacrificed his life and saved 14 people from a family during the 2009 flood in Jeddah. Farmaan, 32, belonged to Swat and left a widow and three daughters. He lived in Saudi Arabia for 6 years and returned to Pakistan two times. Farmaan given the award after thousands of Saudis campaigned for a road to be named in Jeddah after Farmaan.
