ISLAMABAD – The capital police handled 786 gatherings during the current year, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam in a press statement issued here on Monday. “Remaining firm to their basic objective of maintaining law and order, Islamabad police personnel handled around 46 political gatherings, 95 religious events, 75 trade union activities, 45 events of lawyer, 440 miscellaneous activities including 72 functions, receptions and 13 major events,” said the IGP.
Meanwhile, DIG (Operations) Bani Ameen has directed all sub divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) to remain vigilant against those involved in anti-social activities and ensure effective patrolling in their jurisdictions especially at exit and entry points of the federal capital.
