CM indebted to Indonesian experts for help

The Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif, thanked the Indonesian team for their help and support in fighting dengue and said that an effective strategy had been adopted for providing medical facilities to the patients suffering from dengue.
While addressing a meeting to review steps taken for the eradication of dengue, he said that he was thankful to the medical team of Indonesian experts for coming to Punjab and he thanked the president, the government and people of Indonesia for cooperation. Indonesia had been afflicted with dengue for the last forty years and the experiences of Indonesian experts were valuable because they were more experienced. He said that a final shape would be given to the long term policy by October 15 for overcoming the menace. He said that special attention was being paid to eliminate the breeding places of dengue and fumigation was continuing in the godowns of used tyres. He said that in the second phase, shifting of these godowns from the city would be considered. The CM said that seminars were being organized for creating awareness among people to instil them with preventive measures against dengue.The Education secretary said that arrangements had been made to train Biology and Zoology teachers regarding the eradication of dengue larvae whereas 98 students of these subjects had offered their services voluntarily for this campaign.
