Scores of employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday staged a protest demonstration in front of the National Press Club (NPC) against the corrupt officers of the authority as they pressed their high-ups to eliminate corruption from the civic body. The protesters demanded a judicial inquiry against CDA Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi and Shaukat Mohmand because of their illegal steps.
They also asked for investigation against the fake degree holders and allotment of lands to hundreds of illegal kiosks. The protesters, while holding banners inscribed with their demands, chanted slogans against the CDA bosses, illegal appointments and political interference in the organisational affairs, as they called for holding of referendum in the CDA. The protesters said the CDA employees’ children should be appointed in the authority.
The enraged workers demanded the government to dissolve the CDA board consisting of the corrupt members and form a new one, with the CDA employees as its members. They said all the promotions should be made while keeping in mind the seniority criterion. The employees asked the CDA authorities to send back the officials who had joined the body on deputation and to appoint the CDA employees on these posts.

  1. Imtiaz Inayat Elahi is an honest man, which cannot be said of most of the permanent employees of CDA .
Today almost every employee is conducting his own private business sitting on government seat; that is if he is not ripping off the residents who have the misfortune of dealing with the Authority.
Time has come for the workers to wake up and see the reality. Executives, managers and officers have failed badly. Institutions are collapsing and going bankrupt. The nexus between the officers, politicians and the mafias has wrought havoc in all spheres of all institutions. Decision makers have failed the nation and executors have abandoned their posts. It is like Normandy beaches under Nazi Germany; they could see the buildup across the channel but chose to leave their posts, Field Marshal Rommel, the supreme commander was more interested in the birthday of his wife than the impending defeat and destruction of his country and his nation.
The workers are blind as bat and cannot see that in the end they will be the ones to suffer most. If they permit the institutions to collapse then it will be they who will be out on the streets. With no institutions there will be no jobs and no pay and of-course no power to con the public.
Workers wake up now and save the institutions. Resist against the forces pushing the nation towards the abyss. Revolt against the system hell bent to destroy. The time is now. If lost it will never come back. Never forget that someone said that Pakistan will be bombed back to stone age. Bombing may not be needed if we continue the course like this.
