Closed for ten days

The Punjab Chief Minister has announced the closure of all educational shops (sarkari, neem-sarkari and zaati) in Lahore. Reason: a myth that dengue may cause a problem for the school going children. In fact, dengue had already made its way to such places during the holy month of Ramazan when all educational institutions were closed. But no safety measures were adopted at that time.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif is known for an administrative mindset. But about the dengue issue, he seems to be hapless. Only the other day, he ‘requested’ the dengue-mosquito to halt its activities; otherwise he would call in the Army Chief to use top khana against him. Now, Mian sahib has ordered to close the educational institutions but he did not bother to ‘request’ the mosquitoes to take a break for a few days. I strongly believe that dengue mosquito belongs to PPP-MQM-PML(Q) coalition, or, this is conspiracy of PPP, MQM and PML(Q) against the Punjab government.

If Punjab government is really sincere to eradicate the disease, it must activate the research wing of health department, and provide it sophisticated equipment to tackle the issue for the next year, because at the moment, no one can control it.
