Dengue virus continues to play havoc with the lives of citizens in Punjab as more patients suffering of the disease expired in a hospital of the provincial capital on Wednesday.
According to details, Syed Nadeem Raza,40, a resident of new Mauzang area and an employee of Population Welfare Department was shifted to Services Hospital some four days earlier due to downfall of his health.
During treatment the doctors detected that Nadeem was suffering from Dengue fever. He remained under special care for four days and breathed his last on early Wednesday morning.
Constable of Punjab Police Mujahid Squad Atta Muhammad also died of dengue. Atta was under treatment in Jinnah Hospital.
Moreover, 14-year-old Ali also lost his life to dengue fever. Ali was under treatment at the Children’s Hospital.
Death toll due to dengue fever in Lahore city has climbed to 17 and more than 3500 people including women and children have been affected by the virus.
Though provincial government health department and other orangizations were busy in efforts to control the dengue virus but growing number of patients and deaths have created panic and fear among the citizens.
According to National Institute of Health, there 5,200 dengue cases registered across the country.
