Seven killed, including three women

Seven people, including three women, were killed in various incidents in the city during Eid. A man was killed over enmity in the Batapur area. Police said armed men fired shots at Akmal after Eid prayers due to which he died on the spot. Two people were also injured in the shooting. Police said the father and brother of Akram were already in jail for killing a man from the same party that attacked Akram.
FOUND DEAD: Separately, a 26-year-old woman named Jamila was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Her husband, Israr, told police that Jamila had committed suicide whereas her parents claimed that she had been poisoned by her husband. Police moved the body to a morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Israr.
TWO MEN KILLED: In another incident in Zia Colony, two men killed a 24-year-old boy named Rizwan.
Police said Kamran and Shakir Ali had a row with a man named Irfan.
When Rizwan tried to ease the tension between both parties, Kamran and Shakir gunned him down. Police said both accused were at large and they were conducting raids to nab them.
SUICIDE: In Mangamandi, a father of four, allegedly committed suicide. Police said 36-year-old Ghulam Nabi committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan. But the family of the deceased claimed his son was killed.
BODY FOUND: In another incident, the corpse of a woman identified as Nasreen was found near the railway track in Mughalpura Police precincts. Police said the deceased was a resident of Dharampura and that an autopsy would establish the cause of death.
SET ABLAZE: A woman allegedly set her stepdaughter alight injuring her badly.
