Police recover abducted child

Islamabad Police recovered a ten-year-old child from abductors and arrested three kidnappers on Tuesday during a raid in the city’s Swan Garden area, near Islamabad Highway.
The police also recovered one million Rupees ransom money from the culprits. The child was identified as Samiullah Khan, son of Ahsanullah Khan, resident of Korang Town, a locality in the suburbs of Islamabad. The father of the abductee approached Koral Police and said the abductors had demanded Rs seven million as ransom for the safe release of his son, according to a press statement.
Following the complaint, Islamabad Police Inspector General (IGP) Bani Ameen Khan directed Police Senior Superintendent (SSP) Mohammad Yusuf Malik for the safe and early recovery of the child. On the IGP’s directions, the SSP constituted a special team headed by City SP Capt (retd) Mohammad Ilyas for a raid.
The police team traced the abductors in Swan Garden area by using the latest techniques of investigation. They raided on the kidnappers’ hide-out and successfully recovered the child from their possession. The police team also recovered a pistol and a vehicle from them. The child was kidnapped from the locality two days before Eid.
The kidnappers had demanded Rs 7,000,000 from the father for the safe release his child, but later the matter was settled at one million rupees (Rs 1,000,000).
The kidnappers were paid one million rupees as the ransom money. However, the police not only recovered the child, but also recovered the ransom paid to the kidnappers.
The arrested kidnappers were identified as Shakil Ahmed son of Saghir, resident of Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi; Muhammad Ismail, son of Sultan, resident of Bhimbertrar, Islamabad; and Munir, son of Talib Hussain, resident of Gujar khan, Rawalpindi.
The three culprits are in police custody on four days physical remand after they were presented before a local magistrate on Friday. The police team is investigating the matter and raids are being carried out in various areas of the city in connection with the kidnapping.
