India whitewashed

After being comprehensively beaten in the recent Test series, India has started its downhill journey very quickly. After the bloom of World Cup win there is the doom of Test debacle.

Unfortunately, the Indian cricket glory has always been due to stroke of luck and not based on stringent efforts or continuous superb performance, as is the case of Australia. No doubt, Pakistan’s poor game plan and below average performance in the semi-final paved the way of victory for the Indians in the World Cup 2011.

Complete whitewash by the English team in Test series speaks volumes of how ill-managed is Indian. Not playing with specialist bowlers and relying heavily on Sehwag and Little Master Sachin caused havoc which culminated in defeat after defeat. Only Dravid showed some guts, stood on the wicket and scored runs.

Looking at Pakistan’s cricket scenario in the same context, things are quite awful. Is it not irony of fate that Mohammad Yousaf, a veteran batsman, after being neglected by Pakistan Cricket Board time and again opted to quit? The tainted figure of Shoaib Mailk has been cleared to play in national team. Shahid Afrida, who still can play cricket for a while, altered his path and has opened a boutique. Waqar Younis has tendered his resignation after having differences earlier with Afridi and later with Ejaz Butt.

Sadly speaking, Pakistani cricket has gone to shambles due to extreme poor management of Ejaz Butt. The rotten fish needs to be thrown out of PCB pond as soon as possible.
