GUJRANWALA: Family of Salahuddin Ayubi, an ATM thief who died due to police torture, on Wednesday failed to appear before a judicial inquiry into his custodial death.
As per the lawyer representing the family of Salahuddin, the post-mortem report has been rejected by the family and a request has been submitted asking exhumation of the body so a new autopsy can be conducted.
Senior civil judge Shaikh Fayaz Hussain launched a probe into the death of the alleged ATM thief.
Notices were issued to the station house officer (SHO) and two investigation officers of the City-A-Division Police Station directing them to appear before the judicial officer.
In another notice, the deceased’s father was also asked to become part of this ongoing investigation.
