LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s son Suleman Shahbaz in a money laundering and assets beyond means case.

Subsequently, Judge Amir Mohammad Khan ordered police to arrest Suleman and to produce him before the court by August 10.

The arrest warrants were issued on an appeal of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal had issued arrest warrants for the suspect on April 3.

Earlier in the day, NAB filed a petition in an accountability court for the confiscation of Suleman’s property. In its plea, the anti-graft body cited “continuous non-appearance” of Suleman before the court despite being summoned “six times”.
