Refresher courses arranged for traffic police

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) arranged refresher courses for the cops to improve their skills and make them public friendly. As many as 45 cops have so far passed this course. The purpose of these courses is to ensure capacity building of ITP’s personnel who have to perform duties in odd situations and make continuous interaction with the public. The decision to arrange such courses had been made by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood and SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan has directed the ITP officials to ensure safe road environment in the capital and adopt polite attitude during interaction with road users. These course to be held in various phases has started from July 6 and to remain continue in the upcoming months till all cops of ITP force attend it. Officials of the rank of inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables, constables are participating in these courses. The operational staff is being educated to follow the operational codes of ITP, adopt polite attitude with citizens to ensure community policing and enhance the image of the force. They are also being given special training to handle traffic manually after disruption in power supply to traffic signals.
