KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho on Thursday took notice of harassment of a girl at Sindh Government Korangi Hospital (SGKH) and suspended Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) Dr Farrukh Sher.
In her statement, Dr Fazal Pechuho said harassments incidents have brought a bad name to the health profession, adding strict departmental action would be taken against the involved doctor. She said further action would be initiated in the light of enquiry report.
Reliable sources at Sindh Government Korangi Hospital said AMS SGKH was allegedly involved in harassment of females.
Awami Colony Police arrested Dr Farrukh Sher over alleged harassment of a girl (N) in the premises of the hospital. FIR no 288/2019 was lodged on the complaint of victimized girl.
However, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter acting president and parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh and PTI MPA Raja Azhar visited Awami Colony Police Station and expressed annoyance that police was giving protocol to the arrested doctor.
