LAHORE: The man who allegedly beat and tortured his wife for not dancing for his friends, on Monday filed an application in the Model Town session court seeking his release on bail.

Faisal, through his counsel, challenged a judicial magistrate’s ruling that rejected his bail plea in the case last week.

Faisal’s lawyer argued that the charges against his client in the first information report are bailable offences. He, therefore, pleaded that he should be granted bail.

The police had arrested the suspects after a video of Asma Aziz sharing her ordeal began doing rounds on social media.

Aziz stated before the court that her husband was drunk when he came home with two friends on the night of March 24. “My husband tied my feet with a water pipe and tortured me.
