–Walled City hosts heavy bikers rally as participants embrace rich heritage
LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) in collaboration with the Torque Motorsports club held a heavy bikers rally in order to celebrate 23rd March here on Saturday.
According to details, the rally started from DHA Phase 6 and ended at the Lahore Fort. Almost 180 bikers from all over Lahore participated in the rally and gathered at the Alamgiri Gate of the Fort. Pakistani actor Moammar Rana was also a part of the rally.
The heavy bikes in the rally included Polaris, Slingshot, Turbo Hayabusa, BMW, GSXR, Yamaha R1 and others.
A biker, Bilal Ahmad, while talking to Pakistan Today said, “It was a lifetime experience to drive into the grand Lahore Fort on our bikes and that too on the Pakistan Day.
“It is a stunning view and crossing Minar e Pakistan on this day gave us goosebumps as we could imagine and realise the importance of this Minar while taking a look at it,” he added.
Mansoor Bajwa, another biker, said that it was important to bring all the bikers to the Walled City on Pakistan Day as it marks of freedom while the new generation also needs to get close to these places.
Usman Khan, a participant of the rally, was if the view that the heritage was of immense importance and he was glad to see the Fort well kept. “WCLA had very well organised the event and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were informed about the heritage as well, and I must say Hazuri Bagh is breath-taking,” he said.
Sunny Chaudhry, the organiser from Torque Motorsports said it was a pleasure to have WCLA’s support. “We hope to hold more if such rallies in future with this collaboration. It was important to bring the bikers here on a heritage site and Minar-e-Pakistan so that we could celebrate the true spirit of this day. We are proud to be Pakistanis and also cherish the world-class heritage we have,” Chaudhry said. “The ambiance of the Fort has made it more beautiful and all the participants have enjoyed it.”
WCLA Director Marketing Asif Zaheer said, “We are trying our best to bring in tourists to the Walled City of Lahore and on Pakistan Day it is great to have a huge number of bikers who also attracted the other tourists with their heavy bikes. We will be carrying out more activities like this in future as well.”
