NADRA and Aurat Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate unregistered women in acquiring their CNIC. The MoU was signed between NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik and Aurat Foundation Chief Operating Officer Naeem Mirza on Tuesday in a ceremony held at NADRA headquarters. Aurat Foundation will help NADRA in running public awareness programmes to encourage unregistered women in acquiring CNICs and will provide grants through competitive process to local NGOs and CBOs, who will, in turn, mobilise their resources to achieve the objective. “In the past three years, NADRA has increased women registration by 74 percent, however, we need to reach out to more women and that is why we are reaching out to NGOs to help facilitate women awareness,” said Tariq Malik.
