PHC terminates security officer’s services on corruption charges

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Saturday imposed a major penalty of removal of service on PHC Security Officer Juma Khan over the charges of misconduct and corruption.

According to the details, two separate complaints made by the canteen contractor and extension bar room project site engineer were received by the PHC against the now fired security officer.

As the initial reply of the accused was not found satisfactory, formal disciplinary action was initiated under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government Servants (Efficiency and Disciplinary) Rules-2011.

HR&W Director Inamullah Khan Wazir and Assistant Legal Draftsman Tehreema Sabahat were appointed as the inquiry officer and departmental representative on the matter, respectively.

On receiving the inquiry report and going through the evidence recorded by the inquiry officer, the accused officer was served with a show cause notice, asked to submit reply and was asked to intimate whether he wants to be heard in person.

“He was personally heard on Saturday. He also submitted an application in his own handwriting seeking forgiveness of the mistakes committed by him,” reads the report.

In light of the investigations, the security officer was terminated.
