Indian Army sources have said that due to internal discord of Pakistan, there have been very few ‘unsuccessful efforts of cross-border infiltrations’, from that side. Expressing his opinions during an informal talk at a plantation drive campaign the Indian, White Knight Corps’, Lt Gen J. P Nehra expressed his concerns that ‘militants’ could take advantage of inclement weather to ‘attempt cross border infiltrations’, but all necessary precautions had been taken to foil ‘ such attempts’. Referring to Mumbai’s serial blasts and situation of AJK’s LoC (Line of Control), he said although there were no movements visible on borders, there were intelligence reports of ’42 training camps of militants’ on other side of LoC. He further informed that after Mumbai serial blasts, Indian Army at borders had been alerted, while briefing about presence of militants said that 175 of these, belonging from Hezb-ul-Mujahideen and LeT (Lashkar-e-Tayyaba) active at the Pir Panchal range.
