Karachi Rangers arrest man who stole 803 CNICs

KARACHI: The Karachi Rangers on Thursday arrested a man accused of stealing Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) from a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Karachi’s Landhi area.

It has been reported that the suspect had stolen 803 CNICs as well as two Benazir Income Support cards a day earlier.

A spokesperson claims the raid was conducted on “intelligence information” and the suspect is in police custody.

At least 1,800 CNICs were stolen from the NADRA office in Landhi ahead of the by-polls in PS-94 Korangi, it was reported on Wednesday.

According to the police officials, the suspects broke into the NADRA office premises late on Tuesday and stole the CNIC cards.
