Afridi doing 2-minute cameos again

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

KARACHI/LAHORE/ISLAMABAD – Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi is all set to take us back to the glory of his playing days with his own YouTube channel that he launched last week.

Boom Boom Afridi, who has arguably been Pakistan’s most popular cricketer over the past 25 years, will now be producing two-minute videos and uploading them on his YouTube channel.

The development has made millions of his fans nostalgic and they can’t wait for Afridi to rekindle his flair from the past with perfectly timed bursts of entertainment.

“Two minutes of Lala – that’s what’s been missing from my life in the recent past,” said Talal Asif, a Lahore-based professor.

“Afridi was way ahead of his time. We talk about the optimum digital video time being two minutes on social media now, but Afridi had that figured out in the 90s,” noted Javeria Ali, an Islamabad-based digital marketer.

Sources within Afridi’s social media team reveal that an upcoming cameo featuring Boom Boom will discuss the benefits of retracting retirements for all categories and age-groups of cricketers.

“A preview of the video was shared with Misbah-ul-Haq during his meeting with Azhar Ali at an Islamabad hotel last week,” a source told The Dependent.
