PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate Torkham border between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Sept 14.
In a video message shared on Wednesday, Khan said that Torkham border has been opened for 24 hours on the instructions of the premier. He noted that trade with Central Asian states would grow by the opening of the border.
“In this regard, all preparations have been completed. I hope the decision would bring job opportunities in Afghanistan,” Khan said, adding: “The decision will boost bilateral trade and cooperation between two countries.”
One of the busiest ports of entry between the two neighboring countries, Torkham is located along the 2,500 km international border that separates Pakistan and Afghanistan and serves as a major transportation and shipping site.
