No NGO will be registered without NOC from CTD: minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Muhammad Ajmal Cheema said on Monday that no new non-governmental organisation (NGO) would be registered until it presented a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

Chairing a meeting of all divisional directors and deputy directors, he said the meeting had been called to devise an effective strategy for better future performance of the department. He said that everyone gave preference to personal gains, but now it was time to do something for others, for the people who need our support.

Ajmal Cheema said that he had trust in his team and wanted them to come out with their best performance.

Names for district advisory councils were also discussed in the meeting.

The minister directed all divisional directors to conduct complete scrutiny before issuing disability certificate to a person.

Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Kaneez Fatima, Secretary Social Welfare Ambreen Raza, Director General Social Welfare Kiran Afshan Imtiaz and all other divisional directors and deputy directors attended the meeting.
