ISLAMABAD: Indian troops on Tuesday martyred at least two youngsters in Shopian district of occupied Kashmir.
The youth were killed by Indian Army’s 1 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group during a violent cordon and search operation in Awneera area of the district.
An Indian official claimed that two suspected militants were killed in the gunfight and the identity of the slain is being ascertained, he said, adding searches are underway in the area.

Earlier, thousands of people attended in the funeral prayers of the four martyred youth at their native areas in Shopian and Pulwama districts.
On Friday, Indian troops martyred at least four Kashmiri youth in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) in their fresh act of state terrorism in the troubled valley.
According to details, the killings occurred in Pulwama district of the Kashmir.
The Kashmiri youths were martyred during a cordon and search operation at Punjran area of the district.
Meanwhile, an Indian army official was also killed in an attack at Sadura area of Islamabad district of the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
In April, the occupying Indian army martyred 13 Kashmiris, including a young boy.
According to data collected by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, 132 people were critically injured by pellets, bullets and teargas shells over the course of the month.
