PBC constitutes special committees to identify corrupt judges

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has constituted committees to identify corrupt judges for sending references against them to President Arif Alvi and the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

According to reports, PBC Vice Chairman Amjad Shah said special committees have been established which will identify corrupt and incompetent judges so that references could be sent against them. He said the committees will send their reports within one month after which PBC will forward the cases to the president and SJC for further action.

Shah stated that committees will collect all evidence for making the basis of the references.

Committees’ members will review the decisions given by these judges. The names of judges will not be made public till the time the references are filed nor will anyone be allowed to resort to any character assassination of these judges. The name of the committee members will be kept secret.
