LAHORE – National team’s opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq is set to replace former national cricketer Fawad Alam in PTV Home’s upcoming comedy drama serial Ghar Damaad, sources within the production team have informed The Dependent.

The development comes after the promo and images from the show were released showing Fawad Alam shooting with the rest of the cast. The promo shows that Fawad Alam’s character enters a random house after his car breaks down in front of it, with the rest of the cast creating various humorous situations.

However, the producers have confirmed that the role will actually be played by Imam-ul-Haq when the show actually goes on air.

“Imam is just better suited for the conditions,” said one of the producers while talking to The Dependent. “Also, he has much better references on his CV.”

The developments has come as a shock to many given that the leaked script of the episode of Ghar Damaad actually revealed that the role that Fawad Alam was set to play was that of Fawad Alam himself.

The reports have further fueled the #FaadiKoKhilaoBC movement with demonstrations expected to simmer nationwide in the upcoming weeks.
