College of Paramedical Technology JPMC awaits attention of govt

KARACHI: The construction work on Institute of Paramedical Technology College Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) has not completed yet despite the lapse of ten years, it was learned on Saturday.

The construction work on new building of Institute of Paramedical Technology College was started about ten years ago but it could not be completed as yet due to devolution of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center in Sindh province.

The federal government had handed over unfinished building to Works & Services Department of Sindh for its completion about six years ago but institution could not be completed as yet due to lethargy of provincial authorities concerned.

The project worth millions of rupees was still incomplete due to the lethargy of federal and provincial governments. Executive Director, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Dr Seemin Jamali, while talking to PPI, said Sindh Works & Services Department has not handed over the building to the JPMC management as yet, as finishing work of the project is still not completed.

She informed that as per plan the School of Paramedical Training and Basic Medical Sciences Institute would be shifted in the Institute of Paramedical Technology College after completion of this project.
