KARACHI: Investigation Officer (IO) in Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Rizwan Ahmed on Saturday made revelations regarding alleged disappearance of a key witness in this case.

The officer informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that Rao Anwar and others accused are very influential and intelligent and the key eyewitness of the incident had disappeared.

Rizwan Ahmed stated that due to the pressure and influence of the accused the witnesses were already made recusant. He said this was evidence of the influence wielded by the accused.

He informed the court that if the bail granted to Rao and others was not dismissed, all witnesses of the case could be made recusant. He added that the accused could compel the witnesses by pressurising them to change their statements.

The officer pleaded the court to dismiss bails granted to Rao and others accused in the case.

The hearing was later adjourned.
