KARACHI: Three more policemen were arrested on Monday in Naqeebullah’s extrajudicial murder case. The recent arrests have taken the toll to a total of nine police officers being arrested on the charges of killing a 27-year-old man Naqeebullah Meshud, which was labelled as an ‘encounter’.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court had ordered the arrests of police officials including constables Ali, Shafiq and Nazil. The arrested were then sent on a seven-day physical remand, confirmed investigation officer Abid Qaimkhani.
However, the primary suspect in the case, SSP Rao Anwar, still remains uncaught by the police authorities despite the Supreme Court’s deadline, to arrest and produce him before the court, having elapsed last week.
