The glamorous film festival in Rajasthan considered diverse kinds of films from all over the world, including documentaries and short films based on English, Hindi, Rajasthani and other cultural outlooks.
Film parties, workshops, seminars and gala events were organised as well. Focusing on the academic and technical aspects of cinema, RIFF tries to ensure that common members of the public and able to link with the world of cinema. This it achieves by organising seminars, debates and discussions.
The Pakistani film Load Wedding, starring Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat, won the award against a number of top films from across the world.
“We are extremely thrilled that our hard work is getting recognised internationally,” producer Fizza Ali Meerza said in a statement.
“We always believe in working with stories that has a positive message to give back to society and portrayal of a positive image of Pakistan worldwide. This is the first award Load Wedding won since the release, and we are sure it’s the first of many,” she added.
On the other hand, director Nabeel Qureshi said that “It’s always a very pleasant feeling to see your work being recognised and acknowledged. Load Wedding is a film very different from all the other films I have done and also very special to me. I’m very happy to be honored by this award from RIFF 2019.”
