The result of PS-94 Korangi Karachi-III by-poll to be announced soon as vote count gets underway
Vote counting of the Sindh Assembly’s constituency of PS-94, located in Karachi’s Korangi neighbourhood is underway after by-polling ended on Sunday evening.
Earlier in the day, voting had begun at 8 am sharp and concluded at 5 pm; however, a few voters who were present at the polling stations were allowed to take part in the process after polling time ended.
Voters who showed up to cast their vote did not encounter any problems as tight security was ensured by security forces.
The poll was conducted as a result of the vacancy created after the demise of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPA Muhammad Wajahatin in November 2018.
The competition boiled down to MQM-P candidate Syed Hashim Raza and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Muhammad Ashraf Jabbar after preliminary results poured in, leaving out a total of 28 aspirants who were contesting for the seat.
So far, MQM-P is in the lead.
